When space is tight and a square or circular plate won't fit, the APD2AMPS38 diamond-shaped adapter steps in, joining a 2-hole AMPS-compatible base to a 38mm ball. It works with 38mm (1.5 inch) mounts, holders, cradles and pedestals, including double-socket shafts from Arkon Mounts or RAM Mounts Size C. (Mounts, holders, cradles and devices are sold separately.) Built to be bolted straight into a dashboard or any other flat, solid surface, it delivers the kind of rock-steady connection commercial and fleet vehicles demand. Overall the adapter stands 2.25 inches (57mm) tall and spans 2.5 inches (64mm) wide, while the two mounting holes in the diamond base plate sit roughly 1.91 inches (48mm) apart centre-to-centre, matching a wide range of AMPS-pattern devices.
