The RMAMPS2517 mounting pedestal belongs to Arkon's Robust Mount Series and is designed to replace or upgrade an existing 17mm ball pedestal. It fixes to car dashboards and consoles, or to walls and any other solid flat surface, using screws (not included) through the 4-Hole AMPS drill base pattern. Any 17mm ball holder or adapter will fit, including Arkon's Mobile Grip 2 Universal Phone Holder along with third-party 17mm ball holders, and the pedestal also suits Garmin GPS models that use the 17mm ball mount pattern. Supplied here is the heavy-duty 4-hole AMPS pedestal with 17mm ball head only — holders and adapters are sold separately. The AMPS pattern places four holes in a rectangle spaced 30.17mm x 38.05mm, measured centre-to-centre between the holes. Built from a combination of nylon and plastic, this tough, low-vibration pedestal measures 5.75 inches end to end. Its arm swivels at both the top and the bottom for full 360-degree rotation, so you can angle your device exactly where you want it. Screwing the mount straight into the dash or console of your car or work ute is also an option.
