Weighing 4.5 pounds, the base sits securely on any flat surface, so the stand no longer needs an edge to clamp to. Note that this Pro Stand weighted base is not recommended for use with heavy-duty DSLR cameras. Changeover is straightforward: lift the three-shaft arm assembly off the clamp stand, slide it down into the collar on the base, and lock it in place using the hex key supplied.
