Arkon's XLRMAMPS premium 4-hole AMPS wall or car phone mount is fitted with the RoadVise XL holder, which accommodates devices up to 5" wide — even those wearing skins and ruggedised cases. Compatible handsets include the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Note 4, Galaxy S7, S6 and S5, LG G6 and G6+, G5 and G4, Google Nexus 6 and Nexus 5, HTC One M9, One M8 and One Max, Nokia Lumia 1520 and 1020, plus the Motorola Moto G. It isn't recommended for caseless phones measuring 2.64 inches wide or less, such as the iPhone 7 or iPhone 6. Midsize tablets with 7-8" screens that measure up to 5" wide also fit, among them the Galaxy Tab E 8.0, Galaxy Tab S 8.4, Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and 8.0, and Google Nexus 7. Handheld gaming consoles, including the Nintendo Switch and Sony PSP, work in the holder too. A spring-loaded mechanism inside the solidly built holder expands to clamp large phones and midsize tablets firmly, and Arkon recommends the RoadVise XL Holder for smartphones with skins and ruggedised cases. Its low-profile arms leave rear cameras unobstructed for spur-of-the-moment photos or video. The 4-hole AMPS pattern is a rectangular arrangement spaced 30.17mm x 38.05mm (centre-to-centre between holes). The tough, low-vibration pedestal stands roughly 4.5 inches from the underside of the base to the top of the pedestal (holder not included in that measurement) and is built from a plastic and nylon combination. Double ball adjustment gives 360-degree rotation for complete freedom in angling your device. You can also screw the base straight into your vehicle console. (Warning: drilling into a vehicle may cause damage. Take care and speak to a mobile installation professional so you avoid drilling into sensitive vehicle components.) Remove the holder to expose the 17mm ball mount base and Garmin GPS units can be mounted as well.
