The AP013 is an 80mm adhesive disc that creates a flat, suction-friendly landing pad on your dashboard for an Arkon or third-party 70mm windscreen suction pedestal, covering Arkon pedestal models GN079WD-SBH, GN068WD-SBH, GN022-SBH, GN014-SBH, GN015-SBH and GN042-SBH. (The disc is deliberately a little wider than the mount so the cup has room to seal properly.) Only the adhesive disc is supplied here — mounting pedestals are sold separately. Fitting is straightforward: peel the paper backing away from the rear of the plastic 3M dash disc, position it on a surface you’ve already cleaned, then press down firmly. (Wipe the area first with the supplied alcohol pad so no dash conditioner or protectant is left behind, and ideally give the adhesive 24 hours to cure before locking the base of your mount into the centre of the disc.) It’s designed as a semi-permanent fixture, though removal is possible: soak the area with a generous amount of rubbing alcohol or a similar adhesive remover using a cotton bud, let it work in, then slide a long length of dental floss underneath and saw through the adhesive until the disc lifts free. If you run an 80mm suction mount instead, the 90mm version is Arkon Model AP020.
