The AP020 is a 90mm adhesive disc that lets you fix an Arkon or third-party 80mm windscreen suction pedestal directly to your dashboard, Garmin and TomTom GPS pedestals included. (The disc is deliberately a little wider than the mount so the cup has plenty of surface to seal against.) Only the adhesive disc is supplied here — mounting pedestals are sold separately. Fitting is straightforward: peel the paper backing off the rear of the plastic 3M dash disc, position it on a surface you've already cleaned, then press firmly. (Wipe the area with the supplied alcohol pad first so no dashboard conditioner or other treatment is left behind, and for best results give the adhesive 24 hours to cure before you attach the base of the mount to the centre of the disc.) Although it's designed as a semi-permanent fixture, the disc can be lifted later: soak the edges generously with rubbing alcohol or a similar adhesive remover using a cotton swab, let it work into the bond, then slide a long length of dental floss underneath and saw through the adhesive until the disc comes free.
