The AP036 70mm adhesive disc lets you fit an Arkon or third-party 60mm windscreen suction pedestal directly to the dashboard of your car, including suction pedestals supplied with Garmin and TomTom GPS units. (The disc is deliberately a little wider than the suction cup so the seal has plenty of surface to grip.) Only the adhesive disc is supplied here — suction mounting pedestals are sold separately. Fitting is straightforward: peel the paper backing away from the rear of the 3M-backed plastic disc, then position it on a surface you have already cleaned and press down firmly. (Wipe the area first with the supplied alcohol pad so no dashboard conditioner or other treatment is left behind. Ideally, give the adhesive a full 24 hours to cure before you lock the base of the suction pedestal onto the centre of the disc.) Although the bond is intended as a semi-permanent one, the disc can still be lifted later: soak the edges with a generous amount of rubbing alcohol or a similar adhesive remover applied on a cotton swab, let it saturate, then slide a long length of dental floss underneath and saw through the adhesive until the disc lifts free.
