The CM088-G17-SBH seat rail or floor mount drops in to replace or upgrade an existing pedestal and pairs with Arkon's universal smartphone and tablet holders (sold separately), such as the Slim-Grip Ultra Universal Smartphone and Midsize Tablet Holder (SM060-2), the Slim-Grip Universal Tablet Holder (TAB001), the Mega Grip Universal Smartphone Holder (SM040-2) and the Mini Grip Smartphone Holder (SM015-2SLM). The pedestal also suits older 2005-2009 Magellan RoadMate, Triton and Maestro GPS units built around the Dual T-Slot mounting pattern. What you receive here is Arkon's 15" Flexible Steel Seat Rail or Floor Mount with Dual-T Head on its own. Formed from steel that stays strong while still flexing, it's a practical choice for service vehicles and trucks, or for anyone who wants their device close at hand but mounted away from the windscreen or dash. End-to-end the mount measures 18", of which 15" is flexible gooseneck. Fitting to the seat rail calls for a socket wrench: back off the passenger seat track bolt, slide the supplied seat track bolt bracket into place, then do the bolt back up. From there, bend the 15" gooseneck and turn the swivel ball adapter head through a full 360 degrees until the device sits precisely where you want it. Floor brackets and screws are also supplied if you'd rather fasten the mount straight to the vehicle floor. (Warning: drilling into the vehicle floor can cause damage. Take care and speak with a professional mobile installer so you don't drill into sensitive vehicle components.)
