The GN079WD-SBH-AMPS sticky suction pedestal works as a replacement, an upgrade, or a second mounting point alongside a pedestal you already own. It fits any gear built around the 4-hole AMPS pattern — vehicle-specific mounts (VSMs), cameras, GPS units, audio/video receivers, and satellite radios such as the Sirius S50, Sirius XM Onyx Plus, XM Onyx EZ, Sirius XM Lynx, Stratus 7, Dock & Play, and Sirius Dock & Play (each sold separately). It also suits mobile radio holders, housings, and similar hardware relied on across public safety, construction, and utility work. A 4-hole AMPS pattern is four holes arranged in a rectangle, spaced 30.17mm by 38.05mm centre-to-centre. This package contains the Sticky Suction Mounting Pedestal only, with its 4-Hole AMPS head and 3-inch articulating arm, plus an optional 3M adhesive dash mounting disk. (Devices sold separately.) Dashboards, windscreens, and other flat or lightly textured surfaces are all fair game, since the base pairs polyurethane gel with suction for maximum surface bond. The 3-inch articulating arm adjusts vertically and rotates through a full 360 degrees, so you can line the screen up from whatever seat you're in. Installation is quick: wipe the mounting area with the supplied alcohol pad for the best possible grip, position the pedestal, then press the one-touch lever to lock in the suction. On soft vinyl, leather, or similar dash materials, Arkon suggests fitting the included 3M adhesive disk to avoid leaving permanent indentation marks. The hold is serious, yet the sticky suction pad lifts off cleanly and can be used again and again. Should dust or grit reduce its grip, rinse the pad in warm water with a mild liquid soap and let it air dry to bring the suction back.
