The IBMAG179 Magnetic Phone Mount is a well-built magnetic car mount and phone holder made for dashboards, windscreens, and other flat or lightly textured surfaces. In the box you'll find Arkon's low-profile universal rare earth magnet mount with matching metal device plates, a sticky suction mounting pedestal fitted with a 3-inch articulating arm, and an optional 3M adhesive dash mounting disk. Stick one of the metal plates to the outside of your handset or case and the built-in magnetic head grips it firmly, keeping your phone, GPS, or other device in place with no cradle required. The base combines polyurethane gel with suction for maximum surface bond, and the 3-inch articulating arm tilts vertically with full 360-degree rotation, so you can set your device at whatever angle suits the drive. On dashboards finished in soft vinyl, leather, or similar materials, Arkon recommends fitting the supplied 3M adhesive mounting disk to avoid leaving permanent indentation marks. The sticky suction pad holds tight yet lifts off easily and can be reused again and again. Should the grip weaken over time, rinse the pad in warm water with a mild liquid soap, let it air dry, and the suction comes back.
